We live in one of the most heavily forested regions of the country, yet it is easy to take for granted the trees and forests around us and their many values. Bob and Monica Leverett explore the size, age, and climate contribution of trees in our local forests. Bob helped discover most of the known old growth forests in Massachusetts. Currently, he is working with climate scientists to measure carbon sequestration in individual trees. Ken Jacob shows LiDAR scans of some of the forests near Sheffield. The presentation starts at 3:32, after an introduction by Ron Yaple, the Sheffield Land Trust President.
